El Camino Hospital

State of the Art Medical Office Building in the Heart of Silicon Valley

Sitting in the Sobrato Pavilion and connected to the El Camino Health main hospital, the integrated health office building stays true to the technological and elegant features of its surroundings.

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the El Camino Hospital is naturally in tune with the latest medical technology and innovation. The Integrated Medical Office Building at Sobrato Pavilion is the most recently completed renovation project on the 40+ acre Mountain View campus. The challenge for this project, which was completed in November 2019, was to construct a building of the future, while maintaining the aesthetics of the other structures on campus.

The designers at WRNS Studio selected anodized roofing panels to be used as siding. They would form an elegant façade appropriate for an office building that houses state-of-the-art procedure areas and outpatient services, as well as the Fogarty Institute for Innovation. Morin’s SWL snap-lock-seam panels in various widths are installed vertically on the wall wall creating interesting lines and textures depending on the direction the building is viewed. The panels are made from anodized aluminum, in a light bronze finish. This unique metal is not only a sustainable material choice; it also provides dynamic hues that change depending on the lighting and time of day.

More than 31,000 square feet of architectural metal panels were provided for this project, most of them being SWL roof panels installed as wall panels, but also panels from our Cancealed Fastener Series and Exposed Fastener Series.
