Once a forgotten post office site in Houston’s Westbury neighborhood, the Dr. Shannon Walker Neighborhood Library is a next-generation civic landmark. Named after NASA astronaut Dr. Shannon Walker, the 23,260 SF building was designed by BRAVE Architecture as a community hub with a cafe, maker lab, podcast studios, and vibrant gathering spaces.
Morin’s Matrix and Pulse panels anchor the exterior with deep angles, clean lines, and a sculptural presence that shifts with the light. Selected as cover feature for Houston Design Week 2025, the library proves public architecture can be both visionary and rooted in community.
